Tennessee Williams explores the lives of Stella and Stanley Kowalski in their shabby apartment in Elysium Fields, set in the Southern multicultural haven of New Orleans. In a commentary on the divided cultural American psyche, their world is brought to a head by the arrival of Blanche DuBois.
