Join Durham University Chamber Choir as they explore the luminous heart of German sacred music, tracing a journey through faith, mortality and consolation in masterpieces by Schütz, Bach, Brahms and Mendelssohn.

Durham University Chamber Choir presents Light of the Soul, an evening of German choral masterpieces spanning more than two centuries. From the intimacy and clarity of Schütz to the architectural brilliance of Bach, the programme explores music shaped by faith, mortality and a search for consolation. Brahms’ profound Warum ist das Licht gegeben forms the emotional heart of the concert, before Mendelssohn and Bach turn reflection towards assurance and radiant praise. Bringing together some of the richest music in the German sacred tradition, Light of the Soul traces a journey from darkness and questioning towards peace, conviction and an exultant final release.

Foot of the Hill Theatre Company presents The Annual Intercollegiate Showcase: Nostalgia & Memory that encompasses pieces following themes of nostalgia and what it means to you, reminiscing and memories designed to bring the audience to nostalgic worlds of our childhoods, from Disney classics to Roald Dahl.

This is a one day only showcasein collaboration with other college theatre companies to showcase our different interpretations of Nostalgia and Memory, held in support of Children NorthEast. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to them.

An evening celebrating the music of Jamiroquai.

Experience an evening celebrating the music of Jamiroquai, pioneers of acid jazz. With the 30th anniversary of 'Travelling Without Moving' this year, Jamiroquai closes Jazz Soc's Michaelmas themed gigs. You will hear music from several albums of Jamiroquai's, with tracks such as Cosmic Girl, Space Cowboy and Virtual Insanity and promises to be a fantastic evening of super groovy and funky acid jazz.

Aidan’s College Theatre presents tick, tick…BOOM!, Jonathan Larson’s autobiographical musical about chasing a dream when time feels like it’s running out. On the eve of his 30th birthday, aspiring composer Jon wrestles with artistic ambition, love, friendship and the pressure to choose a more secure life. Through a cast of just three actors portraying ten characters, we follow Jon as he confronts the sacrifices that come with pursuing a career in musical theatre. Funny, heartfelt and deeply human, tick, tick…BOOM! celebrates creativity, resilience and the courage to keep pursuing what matters, even when success feels uncertain.

Set on the lower East side, ‘The Suffragette’s Murder’ follows the eccentric residents of the Mayhew Boarding House as they secretly organise a gathering for the early women’s rights movement. But when a constable suddenly arrives to investigate a shocking murder on the property, the group must launch a wild, comedic ruse to hide their illegal feminist activities and find the killer!

Written by Sandy Rustin, this screwball farce brilliantly balances historical intrigue, sharp wit, and a thrilling whodunit.

In the year 1906, right before the Oklahoma territory becomes its own state, a cowboy falls in love with a farm girl against all odds.

Featuring a swelling orchestra, a massive ensemble cast and such famous musical classics as “People Will Say We’re In Love”, Woodplayers is delighted to be staging Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1943 masterpiece “Oklahoma!”. This comedy musical tells a tale as old as time as the dreamboat cowboy Curly finds himself falling for the strongwilled Laurey while batting off the invasive eyes of her farmhand Jud. Also featuring the comedic plights of its second problematic love triangle couple involving another foolish cowboy, a crafty travelling salesman, and a girl who can’t say no, this musical is not one to be missed.
