A Doll's House

A Doll's House

Nora Helmer challenges societal norms by leaving her husband and children to seek independence after realizing her life is controlled and superficial.

A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen follows Nora Helmer, a seemingly happy wife and mother, who gradually realizes she is living in a superficial, controlled marriage. Her husband, Torvald, treats her more like a possession than a partner. When a secret from her past threatens to surface, Nora confronts the limitations placed on her as a woman. Ultimately, she chooses to leave her husband and children in a bold act of self-liberation.

The play explores themes of gender roles, individual freedom, and societal expectations, making a powerful statement about personal growth and the cost of true independence.
