DST Charity Fashion Show

DST is proud to present its first ever Charity Fashion Show!


The combination of the many glorious props and costumes in our stores, and the talent of DST members means this evening is truly going to be like no other. The stunning ketchup bottle, the top hats, and the silky pink period dress of your dreams will all be given their rightful moments upon the stage!


The focus of the evening will be to raise awareness and money for CALM, a suicide prevention charity in the UK. We are so excited to be able to say that 95% of all ticket sales will be going straight to CALM! Throughout the night we will have a variety of entertainment acts, featuring music, dance, drama and much more!


Dress Code: Borrowed Black Tie - One item (or more) of your formal wear should borrowed from someone else be it friend, course mate, or stranger!


Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Last term saw a talk and masterclass with one of finest English baritones to ever grace an operatic stage, Sir Thomas Allen. Sir Tom returns for this event alongside the Executive Chairman of Glyndebourne Opera House, Gus Christie! Through masterclasses, talks and interviews, these two giants of the operatic world will be sharing their expert knowledge of the artistic and business realms of the industry; realms which both need to thrive for opera to be successful. As such, the event offers a well-rounded appreciation of opera which is perfect for anyone who is interested or fascinated by the spectacular world of opera! Don't Bother

Don't Bother

A stand-up poetry show about dead rabbits, chocolate and nostalgia.

Multi-award winning performance poet and alumnus of the Durham Revue, Bróccán Tyzack-Carlin presents a semi-coherent exploration of nothing in particular using some words that rhyme and some more that don't. Blending surreal humour with storytelling and spoken word, 'Don't Bother' is a unique hour of comedy that is not to be missed.


Bróccán is a comedian and poet from Hartlepool. He is the winner of the Manchester Slam 2018 and the Huddersfield Literature Festival Slam 2019. He was runner up in the Manchester Champion of Champions Slam and a Hammer and Tongue National Finalist 2019.
