Buttered Toast proudly presents evenings of entertainment in collaboration with Papyrus. The profits will be fully donated to the Papyrus Charity. They are a small charity that work to breaking the stigma around suicide.
The evening will consist of a succession of concerts, where a series of different Durham based bands such as:
- The Funkhaus Collective
- Lord Emu
- Basement Jazz
- The happy bunny and the shy pigs
(AND A SPECIAL GUEST who will be announced shortly before the evening)
KEITH: 'Standing in the Rain' is KEITH's brand new sketch comedy show. Fast-paced and dynamic, the show covers everything from Mumford and Sons to deathbeds, walking on the moon to radiotors under duress. We've even got a song.
The long-awaited return of the Assembly Rooms Theatre. At the heart of the historic city of Durham, the Assembly Rooms will be holding an Open Day on Saturday 26th October to reintroduce the community to the building following its year-long refurbishment.
The Open Day will be followed by an open-mic style event, christening the new theatre. Everything from music and dance to theatre and comedy will grace the stage!

The Ives Ensemble will be celebrating MUSICON’s fiftieth anniversary with a series of concerts that express their affinity with and deep commitment to music in and from Durham. In the recent past, Durham has also become a centre for contemporary music – more composers in this versatile and pioneering field are based here than anywhere else in the North-East. Over three concerts this internationally renowned and distinguished group will perform works by no less than six composers who form part of the recent musical fabric of Durham.
